TaKiyah Wallace

I am TaKiyah Wallace: teacher, entrepreneur, and polymath. I have been fortunate enough to teach some of the most amazing children through a Gifted Education program in a large urban school district for many years. In addition to that I've been able to start and continue to run a small boutique photography company entitled Some Sweet Photo since 2010. Recently I launched Brown Girls Do Ballet. Brown Girls Do Ballet began as a personal photography project highlighting underrepresented ballet dancers of color. It has since launched into a movement to celebrate while increasing attention to the need for more diversity in the genre of ballet. My eventual goal is to provide scholarships to deserving young girls of color who would like to pursue classical ballet.
